Real Madrid's winger Issues Apology to Real Madrid Fans

Vinicius Jr in action

Vinicius Jr has scored 5 goals in ten Spanish league outings during the current campaign.

Los Merengues winger Vinicius Jr has said sorry to the fanbase for his reaction when replaced in the recent fiery Clasico clash triumph.

Vinicius was replaced in the second half and expressed his frustration by going straight off the pitch.

He later returned to the sidelines and, following his team's narrow triumph, attempted to approach Barcelona's opposing player during contentious post-match exchanges.

"This day I want to apologise to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was taken off in the big match," he shared on X.

"Just as I have said in person during the latest session, I would like to express regret anew to my teammates, the team, and the president.

"Sometimes passion overcomes me because I always want to triumph and support my club. My winning mentality originates in the love I hold for this institution and everything it symbolizes."

The player moved to the Spanish capital from Flamengo in recent years for £38.7m and has accumulated 111 goals in 335 appearances.

But his career in the La Liga is uncertain with reports in recent months indicating that the club would consider letting the player leave if they were to receive a suitable offer.

When Vinicius was taken off on that day, cameras from network Dazn captured him saying: "It's always me! I'm leaving the team! It's preferable if I go, I'm leaving."

In his latest post on social media, he commented: "I vow to keep battling every second for the good of the club, as I have acted since the first day."
