Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Beach
A helicopter soaring above a well-attended California shoreline unexpectedly commenced twirling uncontrollably, ultimately losing altitude and crashing into a line of palm fronds as beachgoers watched.
Recordings posted online show the aircraft beginning to twirl above the shoreline then descending near the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Details
Local firefighters reported five persons were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the incident on that day.
Three individuals on the street were hurt. Details on their wounds were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
